  • A.M.M. Arunachalam–Lakshmi Achi Overseas Loan Scholarship :Interest Free Loan Scholarship for pursuing Post Graduate / Doctoral overseas studies in Engineering Science and Medicine.   • Bharat Petroleum: Scholarship for higher studies: For PG studies in India and Abroad; Prior admission in any institute is compulsory; announced every year: Application invited approx. in May.

  • Chinese government scholarship: for higher studies/research/specialized training in subjects - Zoology, Plant Breeding, Genetics, Environmental Science, Fisheries, Agronomy, Sericulture and Botany. Application invited approx. in: Announced around April.
  • CSIR – Senior Research Fellowship: For working professionals in govt. research lab or university with 2 year research/teaching experience. Should have M.Sc/MBBS/MD/ M.Tech degree. Check Website for CSIR.
  • Czech Government Scholarship: For PhD program in Agriculture. Eligibility: 60% marks in M.Sc.; age below 30yrs. 6000 Czech Crowns per month: No tuition fee and free medical care provided.
  • (Department of Biotechnology) Junior Research Fellowships: Granted Via conducting a exam called -Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) for M.Sc biotech  students with 60% marks; fellowship can be taken in any University/Institute in India where the candidate get him/herself registered for PhD;  Fellowship is for 3 years extendable for 2 more years based on performance. By the end of second year, JRF is upgraded to SRF after assessment.   • Developing Solutions Joint Chevening Scholarships:  Around 30 students selected from the developing Commonwealth countries including India in the areas of Environment, Food, Health & Technology.   • Developing Solutions Taught Masters Scholarship for India: For Masters degree  programmes at The University of Nottingham, in the areas related to biology, Environment, Food, Health and Technology.   • ICAR’s (Indian Council for Agriculture Research) Junior Research Fellowships (JRF): Granted via entrance examination for admission to 100% seats of Master’s degree program at IARI, IVRI, CIFE, NDRI and 25% seats at all the SAUs, CAU and Central Universities in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary & Allied Sciences.   • ICAR Senior Research Fellowship (SRF): Offered to all Ph.D Animal Genetics and Breeding students who are admitted to in NDRI/IVRI. Duration: 3 years. Fellowship amount: Rs. 9500/- per month in 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 10,000/- per month in 3rd year; and a contingent grant of Rs. 10,000/- per annum.

  • INSA-COSTA-CSIR Travel grants: Applicable for Indian Researcher/Students under 35years age. Provide travel grants to present their papers at international seminars, symposia and meetings.   • National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP): It is for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue biomedical science careers at the NIH. Number of scholarships: Approx. 15. Scholarships amount: up to $20,000 per year to pay for tuition, educational expenses and reasonable living expenses. Duration: Up to 4 years.   • National Overseas Scholarships/ Passage Grant for SC and Backward castes/tribes/ Minorities: For P.G./PhD/Research and Training abroad. Total income from all sources of the employed candidate or his/her parents/guardians shall not exceed Rs.25,000/-. Visit: Check For Website.
  • National Talent Scholarship Examination by ICAR for 10+2 students: having Physics, Chemistry and Agriculture/ Biology / Mathematics as full subjects;  Student will be eligible for graduate courses in Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Forestry, Sericulture, Agricultural engineering, Dairy Technology, Food Science & Technology and Agriculture Marketing banking & Co-Operation.     • Scholarship scheme for higher education for students of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes- approved by The Union Cabinet: Applicable for XII passed students. Family income should not exceed Rs.2 lakh pa. It includes all teaching expenses, grant for computer, stationary, books. Rs.2,220 a month as living expenses.
    • Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Fellowship: Granted to top 20% candidates who qualify the NET, CSIR examination. Fellowship amount: Rs. 10,000 Rs. 15000 for 1st and 2nd year respectively and HRA. Contingency grant Rs. 50,000.

    • TATA Innovation Fellowship sponsored by DBT: PhD in life sciences with innovative work and publications. Duration: 3 years, extendable to 2 more years.     • Tata Memorial Centre & Tata Memorial Hospital- Junior Research  Scholarships For Cancer Biology: Eligibility: M.Sc. in Applied Biology/ Zoology/ Biophysics/Life sciences/ Molecular biology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology or MBBS/MVSc/M Pharma  with at least 55 per cent marks.  Candidates are admitted to PhD programme.     • The Gates Cambridge Scholarships: Number of scholarships: more than 100 excluding USA students.  Graduate students from outside the United Kingdom are eligible to study any Graduate to PhD course at the University of Cambridge. Prior admission at Cambridge is compulsory. Scholarships cover the full cost of study at Cambridge including tuition and fees and a maintenance allowance.     Full Fee Scholarships
    Benefits are payment of full tuition fees for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only).  No other allowances are provided.
    Full Fee Scholarships will ONLY be allocated to international students who have been previously awarded a stipend by the host School, Faculty, Research Institute. Applicants must also hold at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree and rank competitively against successful applicants in the current International Major Round Order of Merit list.
    Applications will be considered at any time. Applicants must be nominated by their Principal Supervisor and Executive Dean.

    Adelaide Graduate Research Scholarships (AGRS)
    A number of AGRS Scholarships may be available for international students from any country, who have recently graduated from the University of Adelaide, to undertake postgraduate research at the University of Adelaide.
    Benefits :
    Benefits are payment of full tuition fees for the normal duration of the program and an annual living allowance ($23,728).
    Eligibility Criteria :

    • be completing their four year undergraduate degree including class one honours in a research based honours program at the University of Adelaide.
    • OR be completing their masters degree with a sufficient research component to be approved by the Research Education Development Committee as a degree acceptable for entry to the PhD (refer to the Academic Program Rules) at the University of Adelaide .
    • Currently enrolled PhD students and applicants who applied in previous international scholarship rounds are not eligible to apply again.

    We strongly recommend that all applicants submit their application and all required documents before Mid of May. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their scholarship application by the end of July every year.

    Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI)
    A number of ASI scholarships may be available in the mid year round of scholarships for outstanding international students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in any academic discipline.

    Benefits:

    1. Course tuition fees for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only);
    2. An annual living allowance of approximately $23,728 for the normal duration of the program.

    Eligibility :

    Applicants should hold at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree. This is a four year degree with a major research project in the final year. Other criteria that will be taken into consideration is undergraduate performance, bachelor and honours awards and scholarships, other postgraduate degrees, publications in internationally refereed journals.

    • Applicants who applied in previous international major scholarship rounds are not eligible to apply again.

    Endeavour Postgraduate Awards (International applicants)
    The Endeavour Postgraduate Awards provide full financial support for international students to undertake a postgraduate qualification at a Masters or PhD level either by coursework or research in any field of study in Australia. They provide funding for up to 2 years for a masters degree and up to 4 years for a PhD.
    Award Benefits: tuition fees, a stipend of A$2,500 per month, A$4,500 travel allowance, A$4,000 establishment allowance, plus health insurance.

    International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS)
    The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) scheme is funded by the Commonwealth Government through the Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Its purpose is to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in higher education institutions to support Australia's research effort.
    Approximately 15 scholarships may be available in 2013 for international students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in areas of University research strengths.

    University of Ballarat:-

    Scholarships for International Students

    The University of Ballarat has two types of scholarship that may be awarded to International students. These scholarships are the Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) and the Special Overseas Student Scholarship (SOSS). The SOSS covers course fees only. The IPRS covers course fees health insurance and is usually coupled with the award of a stipend. Further information about these awards is available from Research Services. See below for further details.
    Closing Date:  The closing date for international scholarship applications is 31 October each year.

    Special Overseas Student Scholarship (SOSS)

    This scholarship may be awarded to an overseas applicant ranked sufficiently highly to be awarded a University of Ballarat Postgraduate Research Scholarship. It is awarded in accordance with the Scholarship Application Ranking Procedure, provided the School has indicated prior to the evaluation meeting that the applicant is eligible for such an award. This is an internal award of the University of Ballarat.

    Eligibility for SOSS - course fees

    Applicants for the SOSS are open to international graduates who have completed a four year undergraduate degree at first class honours (or have other qualifications such as a Masters degree or experience in research that lead the Research Higher Degrees Committee to evaluate the applicant as being equivalent to first class honours standard). The  value of the stipend is $22,860 p.a. and is available for the term of the SOSS. A student must be ranked second on the University of Ballarat Research Scholarships Merit List. This award is funded by the School and covers course fees only.

    Deakin University International Scholarships Program (DUISP)
    Deakin University invites high achieving students to apply for a scholarship of up to A$5000 through the Deakin University International Scholarship Program.
    This scholarship is offered in the form of a fee reduction and equals an overall reduction of up to A$5000 per year based on an annual full-time enrolment of 8 credit points. Scholarships are available for undergraduate or postgraduate courses, commencing in either Trimester 1, 2 or 3. Conditions apply.
    Eligibility and selection
    Applications will only be accepted from international students who are eligible to study in Australia with a student visa and who have applied to study their first nominated course at Deakin University. Scholarship applicants will need to provide evidence of high achievement in their previous studies. Note that students who are already enrolled in an award course at Deakin University are ineligible to apply for the program.

    MIT :- School of IT Scholarships

    The School of Information Technology Scholarship was established to assist outstanding international students in the School with their educational goals. This scholarship is available only to international students enrolled in one of the School of Information Technology programs, as listed under the Eligible programs section below.
    The award of a Scholarship is based on academic performance plus ongoing commitment and contribution to MIT student life.
    Whilst academic results are a key requirement to determine student eligibility to apply for a scholarship, non academic factors will also be very important in the selection process. As a guide for applicants, factors such as being an ambassador for MIT in the external community, leadership, mentoring within the MIT student cohort, class participation, community service, volunteering at MIT and ongoing alumni contribution will also be taken into account. This is not an exhaustive list and is meant as a guide only.
    The School of Information Technology Scholarships are not applicable in the November semesters.

    Value and benefits

    Recipients will be awarded with a 30% one-off payment of their program’s semester fees. The scholarships will provide payment toward the cost of tuition fees only.

    Number available

    Up to a maximum of 5 scholarships in any semester. (where the number of eligible scholarship applicants’ exceed the number of scholarships available, the Scholarship Committee shall set an additional criteria to determine the best applicants for the available scholarships).

    Eligibility criteria and selection

    To be eligible (as a minimum) to apply for a School of IT Scholarship a student must fulfill all the following criteria. They must:

    • have achieved an average overall grade of 75% or more, with no individual result below 70% in their preceding semester and have no fail grades recorded. No exceptions will be considered.
    • have a valid IELTS (academic) results with overall score of 7.0 with no band less than 6.5; documentary evidence of current (test date within two years of date of application) IELTS certification must accompany application;
    • have a minimum attendance of 80% in all scheduled classes (no exceptions will be considered);
    • Have made the fee payment for the subsequent semester’s full-time enrolment.

    Note: Students previously ineligible for this scholarship do not automatically become eligible as a consequence of any individual result being amended as the outcome of review.

    La Trobe’s Academic Excellence Scholarships are targeted towards high achieving international students from all countries across all of La Trobe’s undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs. 
    Selection is based primarily on academic excellence, and applicants will need to have scored a minimum of 75 per cent or equivalent in their previous degree/award to be competitive.
    Students with conditional offers may apply.
    Other Information:
    Continuation of the scholarship into a second semester (where relevant) is subject to satisfactory progress and continued enrolment in the program of study for which the scholarship was awarded. Maintaining a C grade average is required, and satisfactory progress will be monitored.
